Our staff have been selected to provide the highest standards of care and education for your child, and we work as a team. All staff are subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance and have a firm commitment to on-going training. All of our staff will ensure that they know all the children in their care, also each child will be assigned a ‘key person’ with whom both child and parent/guardian can build up a special relationship. All of our staff are trained in safeguarding, paediatric first aid and food hygiene. These training requirements are redone every three years.
Ratios
Our minimum ratio of staff to children is as follows
- Children under 2 are on a ratio of 1 adult to 3 children
- Children aged between 2 and 3 years are on a ratio of 1 adult to 4 children
- Children aged between 3 and 5 years are on a ratio of 1 adult to 8 children. The Early Years Teacher is able to work on a higher ratio of 1:13, however Tiddlywinks unless in exceptional circumstances adheres to the 1:8 ratio.
